What is the difference between Quartz and Granite?

Granite is a natural stone, quarried from the earth, as a natural product, with a natural pattern, colour and pattern may differ between slabs. These slabs are quarried straight from the earth then cut and polished to form worktops. Quartz worktops are a manufactured product constructed from natural stone, Quartz stone is crushed and mixed with resin and manufactured in a wide range of colours and patterns. Quartz is a stronger stone which enables larger overhangs whilst Granite is more heat resistant than Quartz due to the nature of the manufactured resin.
